Kuwait, October 13 (QNA) - Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), announced on Monday the discovery of the Jaza Offshore Gas Field, which has recorded the highest vertical well output from the Minagish formation in Kuwait's history.

This breakthrough follows a series of maritime exploration successes, including the discovery of the Al Nokhatha field in July 2024 and the Al Jlaiaa field in January 2025, KPC reported in a statement.

KPC highlighted that preliminary tests of the Jaza-1 well demonstrated exceptional production, exceeding 29 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of natural gas and over 5,000 barrels per day (BPD) of condensates.

The reservoir is distinguished by low carbon dioxide content, complete absence of hydrogen sulfide, and no associated water, making it one of the rare environmental and technical discoveries in the region.

The initial field area is estimated at approximately 40 square kilometers, with preliminary reserves of around 1 trillion standard cubic feet of gas and over 120 million barrels of condensate, equivalent to roughly 350 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOE).

KOC emphasized that these figures are preliminary, with the potential for upward revision through expanded exploration within additional prospects across the field. (QNA)
