Doha, January 30 (QNA) - President of the Police Academy Brigadier General Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti affirmed that the Police College, despite its short life, has made great achievements at the academic and training levels, making it one of the fastest growing and distinguished police colleges in the region.

In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), on the occasion of the celebration of the fifth batch of the Police College scheduled for Feb. 2, Brigadier General Al Sulaiti said that the celebration of the fifth batch comes in the midst of many accomplishments achieved by the College in the field of education and training, despite its short life, which did not exceed eight years.

He added, "Despite its recent history, the college's march is full of giving, and rich in excellence and development on all academic and training tracks, according to high-level standards, which made it one of the fastest-growing and distinguished police colleges in the region, the matter that earned it a prestigious regional and international presence." Brigadier General Al Sulaiti praised the wise leadership's unlimited support for the Police College, noting that the achievements made at various levels would not have seen the light without the wise leadership's interest and great support for the College.

He affirmed that all preparations for the graduation ceremony of the fifth batch of the college's employees have been completed, pointing out that this year's ceremony will witness many new performances, which differ greatly from the performances witnessed in the graduation ceremonies in the previous batches.

The president of the Police Academy stated that the number of graduates of the fifth batch is 100, including 78 Qatari graduates, and 22 graduates from brotherly Arab countries.

Speaking about the achievements, he explained that the college, in terms of its academic career, has made significant strides since its establishment, in addition to the stability of the approved curricula in legal and police courses, general courses, and languages, efforts have been made to develop the educational program to keep pace with the latest developments at all levels.

He indicated that the development plans adopted at the Police College proceeded according to a comprehensive vision, which did not stop at the academic level only, but went beyond it to the training track, as the college, since its establishment, has followed a unique path, inspired by the best international experiences in peer colleges, and added innovative systems and programs to it, as well as focusing on elaborate and accurate implementation in the field.

In a related context, he pointed out that the best cadres in the fields of military and sports training have been selected, including officers and trainers, to supervise the application of these advanced training curricula, so that this effort is reflected in the outstanding performance of the college's candidates in all national activities of the country, and in their high performance in implementing all training plans and programs.

"Today, as it celebrates the fifth batch, the college confirms that it was born a giant indeed. Its ambition does not stop at any limit in the development process, in preparing scientifically and practically trained cadres in the legal and police fields, especially after the transformation into a comprehensive police academy", Brigadier General Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti added.

In his interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), Police College Director-General Brigadier Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti said that since the graduation of the first batch in 2019, the Police College has been providing the Ministry of Interior and the military authorities in the country with well-trained cadres in law and policing science, adding that this reinforces the various security sectors with qualified Qatari cadres, as the total number of graduates from the previous batches reached 520, of whom 430 were Qatari graduates.

The college has added new programs, in addition to supporting tracks, research fields, and practical programs for students in the departments of the Ministry of Interior and related authorities, Al Sulaiti noted, highlighting the remarkable success that the college has achieved in its newly applied courses pertaining legal clinics, image simulation and the art of debate.

Police College Director-General emphasized the criteria for selecting students to join the college, pointing out that the unified permanent committee for selecting candidates for military officers applies the conditions for selecting candidates according to the established controls, which aim to attract outstanding and distinguished high school graduates.

He explained that the committee conducts personal interviews with high school graduates who wish to join the various military authorities in the country, after completing the submission of applications on the committee's website.

Al Sulaiti stressed the keenness to attract Qatari students from high school graduates to join the college's ranks, by introducing them to the college's goals and mission. The turnout is great, and it increases with each new batch, he said, noting that this indicates the firm conviction of Qatari citizens of the importance of serving their country in all fields.

It was also agreed to send the college's candidates to receive practical training at the organization's headquarters.
