Doha, December 12 (QNA) - Qatar SC defeated Al Shamal 3-0 in their match Friday as part of the first round of the Qatar Volleyball League for Men, which is being held at the Qatar Volleyball Association Hall with the participation of 10 clubs.
Qatar's victory came with set scores of (25-20), (25-13), and (25-16), bringing their total to 8 points and placing them fourth in the standings. Al Shamal remain at 4 points in seventh place.
In another match, Al Ahli defeated Al Sadd 3-1 with set scores of (25-23), (25-12), (22-25), and (25-20), raising their total to 7 points and placing them sixth. Al Sadd remain in ninth place with no points.
Two matches will be held on Saturday. The first will see Al Khor, currently in fifth place with 8 points, take on Al Arabi, in eighth place with 3 points.
The second match will feature Al Wakrah, in third place with 10 points, against Al Shorta, the league leaders with 12 points.
It is worth noting that Al Rayyan, currently second in the league with 11 points, will participate in the 2025 IHF Men's Super Globe, scheduled to be held in Brazil from December 16th to 22nd.
Al Rayyan will begin their tournament campaign next Tuesday against Brazilian club Praia Clube, followed by a match against Polish side Aloron Zawersee next Wednesday.
They will conclude their first-round matches against Brazilian club Folly Reyna on the 20th of this month. (QNA)
