Doha, June 09 (QNA) - Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) discussed investment opportunities in health tech with a delegation from the Canadian-Qatari Business Forum (CQBF).

This came during a meeting HE Sheikh Nawaf Nasser bin Khalid Al-Thani, member of the QBA's board of directors, held with a Canadian delegation headed by HE Chairman of CQBF, Philippe Couillard.

The meeting marks the growing cooperation in the relationship between the State of Qatar and Canada and demonstrates the shared desire to reinforce cooperation in the areas of innovation, scientific research, and advanced health tech.

This visit is a consequential landmark in the forum's agenda and one of the core elements in preparing for the Investment Summit scheduled for Sept. 16, 2026, on the sidelines of the Canadian Investment Summit in Toronto, Canada, HE Chairman of CQBF, Philippe Couillard, said.

Couillard added that the delegation included a variety of representatives of companies operating in the health sector. He underscored that the meeting was an opportunity to talk about mutual cooperation between both sides in a wide diversity of economic sectors.

For his part, HE Sheikh Nawaf Nasser bin Khalid Al-Thani welcomed the Canadian delegation, which is visiting Doha for the first time, emphasizing that the visit is a good opportunity to identify the promising investment opportunities the State of Qatar offers to Canadian firms and enterprises and to foster economic and commercial partnerships between the public and private sectors in the two nations.

His Excellency also welcomed the idea of signing a cooperation protocol between QBA and CQBF as a vehicle for further strengthening cooperation and sharing information between both sides.

Executive Director of CQBF Yasser Dhouib noted that these meetings underscore a real desire on the part of the Canadian and Qatari sides to give the required momentum to scientific and medical cooperation.

This , he said, is in sync with Qatar's vision to achieve excellence and leadership in scientific research and modern medical technology, while capitalizing on cutting-edge innovations to curb the spread of chronic and serious diseases, promote the quality of healthcare services, and forge ahead with advances that improve quality of life.

By and large, CQBF seeks to foster bridges of cooperation between Canadian and Qatari enterprises and back initiatives that help transfer knowledge and expertise, as well as advance strategic partnerships in prioritized sectors in the two nations. (QNA)
