Syrian Security Embarks on Redeployment to Al‑Hasakah, Ayn Al‑Arab Under Government-SDF Deal
Damascus, February 02 (QNA) - The Syrian internal security on Monday embarked on redeployment to the cities of Al‑Hasakah and Ayn Al‑Arab in northeastern Syria, in implementation of the agreement between the government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Field sources reported that convoys of military vehicles of the Syrian Ministry of Interior were seen moving from the Al‑Hasakah countryside heading to the central city, escorted by International Coalition Forces amid a large number of coalition jets hovering over the area.
Meanwhile, the internal security forces entered the Shuyukh area south of Ayn Al‑Arab (Kobani) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
Concurrently with these moves, the SDF declared that a curfew will be imposed in the cities of Al‑Hasakah and Qamishli on Tuesday, effective from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
These developments come in the wake of the Syrian government’s declaration on the initiation of the final comprehensive accord with the SDF, signed on Jan. 18, 2026.
The deal includes the commencement of the integration of military, security, and administrative enterprises within the state institutions in the northeastern region.
The agreement further includes redeployment of the internal security forces to the central cities, posturing of employees, and ensuring the operation of institutions, particularly the sovereign ones, such as oil fields, airports, and crossings under the control of Syrian state authorities. (QNA)
