24th Asian Junior Bowling Championship (Qatar 2025) Concludes Saturday
Doha, August 1 (QNA) - The 24th Asian Junior Bowling Championship concludes tomorrow, Saturday, hosted by the Qatar Bowling Association in cooperation with the Asian Bowling Federation, at the Qatar National Bowling Center.
The tournament features the participation of 11 countries, comprising 79 male and 20 female players representing Qatar (host), Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Bahrain, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and India.
The first round of the Masters competitions for boys and girls was held Friday, featuring the top 16 male and female players in each category.
Kuwaiti Nasser Al Kandari topped the boys' competition with 2,001 points, ahead of Malaysia's Muhammad Irfan, who finished second with 1,897 points, while Hong Kong's Dylan Lam finished third with 1,891 points.
The competition featured three Qatari players: Abdulrahman Al Dosari, who finished sixth with 1,845 points, Musaed Al Muraikhi, who finished eighth with 1,789 points, and Talal Al-Marri, who finished ninth with 1,779 points.
In the girls' competition, Chinese Taipei's Hsin-Tse Huang topped the standings with 1,699 points, just five points ahead of Malaysia's Qurat Al Ain Puti, who finished fifth with 1,694 points. Yu-Ru Li of China finished third with 1,668 points.
The masters’ competitions in both categories will continue Saturday, followed by the medals being awarded to the top three winners at the closing ceremony.
Saeed Al Hajri, a member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Bowling Federation, emphasized that the current edition of the Asian Championship was distinguished on all levels, not only in terms of the organization, which was well-received by all participants, but also in terms of the technical level, which witnessed outstanding performances from the participants, confirming that it is one of the most successful championships in the junior category in Asia.
He said in a press statement: "Despite the strong competition witnessed in the championship, the Qatari champions have succeeded in winning four medals so far.
This is an honorable achievement, and we look forward to more as we reach the final day of the continental championship."
He added: "The Masters competition reflected the strong level of the participants, as evidenced by the close points, and we hope that the Qatari national team members participating in this competition will perform at their best to reach the podium and increase their medal tally as we reach the finale of the championship."
It is worth noting that the Qatari bowling team has won four medals so far in the championship, including a gold and silver medal in the double’s competition, a silver medal in the overall team classification, and a bronze medal in the four-person team competition. (QNA)
