The Police College Celebrates the Graduation of its Commandos Course Students

Doha, November 04 (QNA) - Under the auspices of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police College, the Police College celebrated the graduation of the fourth batch of college's students from the commandos course.
The seven-week course saw 88 students take part at the training camp in Zekreet.
The graduation ceremony was attended by HE Major General Dr. Abdullah Yousef Al Mal, Advisor to the Minister of Interior and Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police College, a number of directors of departments and senior officers of the Ministry of Interior, the Armed Forces and the Lekhwiya Force.
Commenting on the occasion, HE Al Mal said that the commandos course for graduates of the fourth batch is the last core course required to graduate from the Police College and obtain a Bachelor's degree in Law and Police Sciences. He pointed out that the completion of this course means that the members of the fourth batch of the college have completed their academic studies and practical training.
Major General Al Mal stressed that the continuous encouragement by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for the students of the fourth batch contributed to raising their morale, which was evident in the field exercises during the course, where everyone competed in order to show the best of their abilities and skills emphasizing their readiness to engage in police work.
He pointed out that the commandos course is a comprehensive one that qualifies its members to perform the most complex security tasks, trains them to behave properly under all types of pressure, and raises the level of physical fitness and endurance.
He added that the Police College proved its high ability to graduate qualified cadres through theoretical study programs in legal and police aspects as well as in all military aspects, and wished the graduates a future full of giving to serve their dear country.
For his part, Director-General of the Police College Brigadier-General Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Muhana Al Marri said that the College has been distinguished by strategic planning and careful implementation of all educational, training and administrative programs and systems, and within a few years it has succeeded in achieving great achievements. He added that the college is constantly working on updating training programs and systems to keep pace with the accelerating challenges in the security field at the global level.
He pointed out that the students of the fourth batch, during the past weeks, made a great effort in performing all the strong exercises and complex scenarios in the course, which was reflected in their results in the end-of-program exams.
Among the most important training programs included in the course, were providing first aid for the injured, naval combat and dealing with explosives. The course also included training on combat in populated areas, raids, capture and control, night patrols, long walks, compass training, shooting skills, command of operations among other topics.
